Milky white nails are a sheer, creamy white that sits between clear polish and bright white. The simplest version is one even color on every nail. From there, ideas include a French tip, chrome, polka dots or a glitter fade, on short nails or on toes.

At Nailed It Spa in Fresno, the base service sets your length and finish, and add-ons such as French Tip, Chrome Finish and Nail Art are priced separately. All prices here are cash prices.

What are milky white nails?

Milky white is a soft, semi-sheer white, more color than clear polish and less stark than an opaque white. How see-through it looks depends on the formula and the number of coats, so a saved photo is the clearest way to show the level you want. A photo that shows the nail shape and length as well as the color helps, because the same milky white reads differently on a short square nail than on a long almond one.

Which milky white nail ideas suit short nails?

Short milky white nails start with a service that works on your own length. A Signature Mani costs $23 and takes 30 minutes, or $23 + $15 with gel. It is a short visit for one even color.

Gel Builder costs $55 for 60 minutes. It is a thicker gel layered over your natural nails, and you can wear it clear or with color on top.

Dip Powder costs $50 for 60 minutes and builds colored powder in layers over a prepared nail. Ask which shades are available when you book. Other manicures are on the manicures page.

How do French tips and chrome work with milky white nails?

French Tip costs $8 and Chrome Finish costs $10, and both are add-ons to another service. A milky white base with either one is a style idea.

For a French version, a white tip over a milky white base gives a softer contrast than white on a bare nail. French Manicure costs $28 for 60 minutes and is a full manicure finished with a classic French tip design. The French Tip add-on has a listed time of 15 minutes and puts a classic white tip on a compatible service such as Signature Mani or Gel X.

Chrome Finish gives a mirror chrome effect and has a listed time of 20 minutes. It is commonly paired with Gel X or Gel Builder.

How soft it looks over milky white depends on the shade and the base. The chrome vs. cat eye guide compares the two shine effects.

How do you add polka dots to milky white nails?

Polka dots are a job for Nail Art (per nail), which costs $5 per nail and has a listed time of 10 minutes. You choose how many nails carry the dots, from one accent nail to several.

Nail Art is usually paired with Gel X, Acrylic Full Set or Pink and White. Gel X is a soft gel extension that adds length and costs $60 for 60 minutes.

As a cost example, Gel X with polka dots on two nails is $60 + $5 + $5. Each extra dotted nail is another $5.

Dot size and spacing are easiest to explain with a photo when you book.

What about milky white toes?

Milky white toes are a style idea rather than a menu item. The Classic Pedicure costs $35 and takes 45 minutes.

It includes nail shaping, cuticle care, a sugar scrub and a lotion massage. With gel, it is $35 + $15.

The other pedicures are compared in pedicure options compared. All of them are on the pedicures page.
