What happens during a manicure depends on which one you book. In general, a manicure shapes the nails and finishes with polish, and the steps in between change with the service. Nailed It Spa in Fresno has four spa manicures, from a simple lotion massage to a mud mask or hot towels, running 30 to 90 minutes with gel available on any of them for $15 more.
What is a manicure, and is it for hands or feet?
A manicure is a nail service for the hands. The matching service for feet is a pedicure.
Spa manicures usually add extras on top of the basics, such as a scrub, a mask or a massage. The four below differ mainly in those extras.
What happens during a manicure at Nailed It Spa?
Each manicure has its own list of steps, and gel can be added to any of them. Shortest first:
Signature Mani is the everyday manicure, about 30 minutes. It has nail cutting, shaping and a lotion massage.
Super Silky Manicure takes about 45 minutes. You get an exfoliating scrub, a mud mask or paraffin wax, and a massage.
Anti-Aging Mani takes about an hour. Its steps are paraffin wax and a massage.
Mega Manicure is the longest at about 90 minutes. It includes a sugar scrub, a mud mask, hot towels and an extended massage.
How long does a manicure take?
A basic manicure at Nailed It Spa, the Signature Mani, takes about 30 minutes. The longest, the Mega Manicure, takes about 90. The table shows each time, the price and the gel add-on.
| Manicure | Time | Price | Gel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Signature Mani | 30 minutes | $23 | $23 + $15 |
| Super Silky Manicure | 45 minutes | $30 | $30 + $15 |
| Anti-Aging Mani | 60 minutes | $38 | $38 + $15 |
| Mega Manicure | 90 minutes | $45 | $45 + $15 |
Prices are cash prices, and card payments add 2.5%. For a short window, the Signature Mani fits in about half an hour. For a slower visit, the Mega Manicure has the most time, with a scrub, a mask and hot towels.
How does gel change a first manicure?
Gel is a finish you can add to any of the four manicures for $15.
Gel polish commonly lasts two to three weeks, and regular polish on hands usually lasts around a week. If you want your color to stay put longer, gel is the usual pick. If you like changing colors often, regular polish fits better.
What should you tell the salon when you book?
Say which manicure you want and whether you want gel. That sets your time and your price.
If you have a color or design in mind, bring a photo. Prices may vary with nail length and design complexity.
If you have pain, a skin or nail health concern, diabetes, allergies, or you are pregnant, ask a doctor first and tell the salon when you book.
What is the usual order of a manicure visit?
In general, a visit starts with choosing the service and the color. The nails are then shaped, followed by the steps that belong to your manicure, such as a scrub, a mask, paraffin wax, hot towels or a massage. Polish usually goes on last.
Regular polish usually needs a little time to set, while gel is cured under a lamp. French Manicure, Gel Builder and Pink and White are separate services, not versions of Signature Mani, Super Silky Manicure, Anti-Aging Mani or Mega Manicure.
