What is Acrylic Full Set?
An Acrylic Full Set is a new set of acrylic nails built from scratch. We prep your nails, add tips for length, then shape acrylic over them.
Overview
Plan on about an hour. Acrylic feels harder and more rigid than soft gel and can be shaped from short square to long coffin or almond.
What's included
- Nail prep
- Tips for added length
- Acrylic applied and shaped
- Filing and buffing to the shape you want
- French tip, chrome, cat eye and nail art available as add-ons
Who it's for
- Adding length to short or uneven nails
- People who are hard on their hands
- Long nails and bold shapes
How long it lasts
Acrylic lasts as long as you keep it filled. As your natural nail grows, a gap shows up near the cuticle, so most people get a fill every two to three weeks.
Maintenance
Book an Acrylic Fill every two to three weeks. Wear gloves when cleaning, and don't pick at lifted edges; come in and we'll fix them. When you're done with acrylic, have it taken off at the salon instead of pulling it off.
How it compares
Gel X also adds length, but it's lighter, more flexible and soaks off. Acrylic is harder and more rigid. Dip Powder doesn't add length; it's a layered color coat on your own nails.
FAQs
How long does an Acrylic Full Set take?
About an hour. Longer nails or detailed art can add a little time.
Does acrylic ruin your natural nails?
Picking or ripping acrylic off can hurt your natural nail, so let the salon remove it.
Can I switch from acrylic to Gel X?
Yes. We take the acrylic off first, then apply Gel X. Acrylic removal is booked as its own service.
