How often should you get a pedicure? Many people book every three to four weeks, then stretch or shorten the gap depending on polish, shoes and the season. Nailed It Spa in Fresno has five pedicures, from the 45-minute Classic Pedicure to the 90-minute Mega Pedicure.
How often should you get a pedicure?
Every three to four weeks suits many people. Toenails grow gradually and a finish changes with everyday wear, so treat that range as a starting point and adjust it to what you see.
These signs usually mean it is time to rebook:
- New growth is visible near the base of the nail.
- The polish is worn at the tips or no longer looks the way you want.
- An edge catches on socks or shoes.
- A trip or event is coming up and you want fresh polish for it.
If none of these has shown up yet, waiting a little longer is a reasonable choice.
Does regular polish or gel change how often to book?
It can. Regular polish on toes usually looks good for around two weeks, while gel polish often lasts longer, and three weeks or more is typical. Your nails and daily use change both.
With regular polish, the color may look worn before the three-to-four-week mark. With gel, the finish often holds until the next visit is due. Gel adds $15 to any of the pedicures below, and you choose it when you book.
Does the season matter?
Mostly through footwear. Sandals and open shoes show every chip and uneven edge, so some people book more often in warm months. Closed shoes and socks hide the finish, so some people stretch the gap in cooler months.
Travel, weddings and other events can pull a visit forward in any season. If you choose regular polish, wear open shoes to the appointment so the polish can set without smudging. For gel, ask your technician whether closed shoes are fine.
Which pedicure fits your rhythm?
The Classic Pedicure is the 45-minute option for regular upkeep, and the longer pedicures suit a visit where you want more steps and more time. You can switch between them from one visit to the next.
