A gel pedicure is a pedicure finished with gel polish, which is cured under a lamp. At Nailed It Spa in Fresno, gel adds $15 to each of the five pedicures, so you choose the pedicure first and then decide whether to add gel.

What is a gel pedicure?

A gel pedicure is a pedicure with gel polish on the toenails. Gel polish is a thin layer of color that hardens under a lamp instead of drying in the air, so it comes out of the lamp dry to the touch.

The foot service itself is whichever pedicure you book. Gel is the finish on top, and you can see all five on the pedicures page.

What is the difference between a pedicure and a gel pedicure?

The polish finish is what changes, along with the price. Regular polish dries in the air and usually comes off with polish remover. Gel is cured under a lamp and generally needs its own removal step, which is one reason people avoid picking at it.

At the salon, the gel add-on is the same $15 on every pedicure. Super Sport, for example, costs $43, and with gel it is $43 + $15.

How much does a gel pedicure cost at Nailed It Spa?

The five pedicures run from 45 to 90 minutes, and gel adds $15 to whichever one you pick. Listed prices are cash prices, and card payments add 2.5%.

How long does a gel pedicure last?

Gel on toes often lasts around three weeks or more, while regular polish on toes usually looks good for around two weeks. These are general ranges, not promises, and the real number depends on your nails, your shoes and how active you are.

Toes tend to see less hard daily use than fingers, which is one reason toe polish often outlasts polish on the hands. Toenails also grow slowly, so a gap near the base of the nail is usually the first sign it is time for fresh polish.

Is a gel pedicure worth it?

That depends on how you weigh a few trade-offs, and the answer is different for different people.

  • Cost: gel is $15 on top of the pedicure you choose.
  • Wear: gel often lasts longer than regular polish, which some people like if they want the color to stay put between visits.
  • Drying: for gel, ask your technician when closed shoes are fine. Regular polish takes time to set, so open shoes help.
  • Removal: gel generally needs its own removal step, and picking or peeling it is discouraged. If you arrive with gel already on, mention it when you book.
  • Color changes: if you like switching shades often, regular polish is usually simpler to change.

How do I choose the pedicure to add gel to?

Pick the pedicure by the time you have and the steps you want, then decide on gel. Because gel adds the same $15 to every pedicure, the price gaps between the five stay the same. For a closer look at what each one includes, read our pedicure options comparison.

When you are ready, book your pedicure. If you have pain or another foot concern, ask a doctor or podiatrist first and tell the salon when you book.
